Smoke baffles

     Smoke baffles are typically used at stair locations.  They surround the opening to the level above and create a barrier hanging from the ceiling.  The purpose is to limit the spread of smoke during a fire and to allow adequate egress as well.  Smoke baffles are required by code in some buildings.
