Fiterman Hall was damaged in the September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center when falling debris from 7 World Trade Center left significant damage on its south façade. The 15-story building, constructed as an office building in the 1950s, had served as an extension of the 199 Chambers Street campus of the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) since 1993. Champion was proud to enhance this building with custom guardrails, handrails, bicycle racks, smoke baffles, entrance ways, a signature spiral staircase, and other custom features as well.
